The Caster Family

In January 2013, my 7 year old daughter Ayverie started to show signs of a typical flu; vomiting, headaches, fevers and dizziness.  After weeks of back and forth from the doctors, specialists and the hospital, a CT scan discovered a mass on Ayverie’s brain stem. One day after Ayverie’s 8th birthday, she was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma (brain cancer).

We were introduced to Ronald McDonald House Charities South Central Ontario (RMHCSCO) and they provided me with everything I needed and more.  Ayverie and I have celebrated birthdays, Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas and New Year’s Eve at the House and RMHCSCO did everything possible to make these holidays, and long stays manageable and memorable.

RMHCSCO gave Ayverie and I a comfortable and compassionate home to live in.  We never had to worry about having a place to sleep, a place to have a warm shower, laundry facilities, an encouraging and listening ear, a hug when needed and amazing nutritious meals to eat.

There are no words to express the love and gratitude, Ayverie and I have for RMHCSCO; they gave me the irreplaceable gift of time. Time, to focus on my daughter Ayverie.
