In December 2012, our normal family life was turned upside down when blood tests confirmed that our 12 year old son Tyrel was in the last stages of kidney failure. It was then that we found RMHCSCO. Exhausted, without anything from home, it was an overwhelming place of peace and caring people who took so much time making us feel welcome and giving us a sanctuary to stay focused on our son.
After 8 months of complications, surgeries, and hemodialysis treatments, Tyrel received a new kidney in August 2013.
I can’t remember many events over this past year, but we do know RMHCSCO was so important to our healing together as a family. We feel so fortunate for the care and support we received from the House and we will always be grateful to the people who support the House for helping us be with Tyrel every step of the way.
