Ronald McDonald House Charities® South Central Ontario Staying With Us

what you should know

Ronald McDonald House Charities® South Central Ontario (RMHC®SCO) seeks to provide a home-away-from-home where your family can stay while your child receives care at a local area hospital.

Eligibility:

Families are not admitted based on their financial need. Rather, they are admitted based on the medical condition of the child, room availability and the distance of their home from the hospital.

Accessibility:

Our House is a fully accessible home complete with five barrier-free guestrooms. Should you require barrier-free accommodations, please specify when making the referral.

The Formiglio Family

Smoke Free:

RMHCSCO is a smoke-free home. Alcohol, marijuana and illegal drugs are not permitted.

Health Checks:

Anyone who is suffering from or who has recently been exposed to a communicable illness cannot stay at RMHCSCO. This includes family members with colds, flu or sore throats. This policy is vital in minimizing risk to children with weak immune systems staying at the House. Guests are required to complete a health check every morning.

Siblings & Other Family Members:

Siblings of the patient are welcome to accompany parents and stay at the House. It is the parent's responsibility to ensure that minors are supervised at all times. Additional guests acting in a family support role may also stay. Please note: all additional guests must be registered with the main office.
