Ronald McDonald House Charities® South Central Ontario Volunteer

Benefits of Volunteering

We rely on the help of our volunteers to provide a home to everyday moments for families of sick children. Our families rely on a friendly smile and a welcome ear as they travel their child’s journey. We are always looking for compassionate individuals to bring comfort to families at Ronald McDonald House Charities® South Central Ontario (RMHC®SCO) and our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms®.

We love to volunteer because we get more out of it than we put in. We feel good about what we've done after every shift.

We place the most suitable volunteer in each position at Ronald McDonald House. Our placement decision is based on the availability of the volunteer, our scheduling needs, and the skills required for each position.  Therefore, we prefer you volunteer in one area for a minimum of six months before exploring other opportunities.  After this time, you are welcome to hold multiple roles as long as you have received appropriate training in each area.

Volunteers receive a general orientation, hands-on training and ongoing support in their roles.

  • I’m not sure I have enough time to volunteer.

We strive to be as flexible as possible to make volunteering easier.  While we’d love to have you here often, volunteers are expected to commit to two shifts per month.  Volunteers may select from a variety of shifts.  We will work together to find a role that meets your availability and schedule.
